Cole and Johanna's Travels

Saturday, October 07, 2006

Last week I took a trip back to Boston and Maine for my dad's 60th b-day! It was a ton of fun--as evidenced by the pictures. We stayed in a beautiful cliff-side hotel in Ogunquit, Maine. It was clearly turning toward fall on the East Coast--over here in San Diego it's still sunny and clear. There's a new bush that begins flowering every couple weeks or so--it's great! Work has been keeping me busy, but this weekend its all about relaxation, taking it in. Snickerdoodles are in the works, some shopping will no doubt take place, and we're definently going to check out "The Departed"--the new Scorcese movie set in Boston. --Johanna

Those pictures look familiar! You were more brave than I to post the picture of Dad with wrapping paper! :)

How was the movie. It looks good.We just saw Scoop with Woody Allen at the Strand. Quirky. Nice touch of the wine bar in the balcony

--The wrapping paper pic was too good not to post! The Departed was pretty good, but pretty violent--a classic gangster film. Good cast and acting though. Wish the weekend wasn't over! We're working on an herb garden outside--just got some rosemary--and taking a basil plant outside, hopefully it will grow huge--Johanna

Nice
I just repotted my basil from the fish recycling place (what is that process called again) The basil is huge.

Yesterday I made some awesome potatoes using rosemary.
Peel and half or quarter potatoes.
cover bottom of baking dish with olive oil...sprinkle fresh rosemary over potatoes and toss to coat them. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and bake for about an hour...turning them occasionally.
YUM...crusty and savory with the rosemary!
