A quick update...
Hello everyone! Sorry for the long delay between posts, but we've been pretty busy the last week...or two. Here are a few pics from last weekend. We went out to the beach and got some pictures of the wildlife... Also, that's Johanna out there in the Pacific, challenging the 8 foot waves....
Johanna is actually back in Boston today for her father's B-day (hopefully he won't see this tomorrow), hopefully she'll post a few pics of the weekend in Boston/Maine. It'll be a great respite from the last two weeks of organizing the optometry residency at the UCSD medical center.
I've been pretty much wall to wall with school the last week and a half. I'm taking 4 classes, and scored a TA position (which is really a 5th class) in the undergrad linear circuits class. As much as circuits might be out of my expertise, the class is definately 10x easier than the grad classes... I just held my first office hours today, which basically is just a question answering session; and me and the other two TA's are holding a problem solving class on Monday (300 students in the class yikes!) I'm probably going to spend most of this weekend going through Fluid Mechanics and the vector calculus it requires, hopefully learning it like the back of my hand.....well eventually..

colio, what's your email address? the ones i have for you don't work and i'm trying to send pics of my fantastic new apartment!!! IM me or something k?
Hope Johanna got home OK!
We miss her. Did you get your McCoun apples Cole? Did she tell you about the fresh doughnuts???
That Seagull is strange. When I was over in Malibu with a friend a couple of years ago there were a lot of pigeons as well as seagulls on the beach. These guys look like they may be interbreeding..We called the Seageons! They have a pigeon beak.
Hi Vicky and LIndsay!!
(i sent a quick email Lindsay..)
Johanna is back in the swing of things, albeit a tough adjustment from Maine!
Those MaCoun's are SO delicious, I can't wait to get home tonight and have one! I was beyond excited when Johanna brought out the bag (I already knew what was in it!). By far my favorite apple (so far), they have a great bite!
I heard about the donuts too; they're becoming a rare breed back east, with Dunkin Donuts taking over... The donut shops are a big thing over here, I've noticed tons of ma and pa places around...
And yes, those seagulls are wierd! They very well could be Seageons! We've felt like we're in another world out here with the different birds. I know I get most excited about the huge pack of wild parrots that fly over our place a couple times a day, you can hear them a mile away (they sound like the plastic horns for bikes)....
We're going to post up those pictures from Maine soon, there are some classics in there!
Anyways, I have to get back to studying, I have a lot to learn...eeks...
-Cole
